In Torrance, the best-known bakeries and bagel shops have lines on weekend mornings, so arrive early or order ahead where the shop offers it. Across California, immigrant bakeries add Mexican pan dulce, Vietnamese banh mi bread, Chinese buns, Middle Eastern sweets and European rye to the mix, and many gluten-free and vegan bakeries have opened in larger cities. Check the listing for hours, whether the shop accepts custom cake orders and its Google rating before you go, and call about allergens, since small kitchens often share equipment. Day-old bread and end-of-day discounts are common if you ask.

I stumbled upon this spot while doing laundry next door. As a New Yorker who recently relocated to California, I take the business of bagels pretty seriously. From the moment I walked in, everyone at 5th Ave Bagelry was warm, welcoming, and friendly. The bagels were legitimately top-tier—perfectly crisp on the outside, yet soft, light, and chewy on the inside. I’ll definitely be back!

Quality food and fast service. They were super busy when I arrived on Saturday morning. The kitchen is bustling while they crank out their orders. I ordered the lox bagel and iced Vietnamese coffee. Food was very good. Only downside, is the ambiance isn't great. Very small and lots of people jammed in to order with lots of noise. But the food is worth it. I will be back.

Delicious bagels, and they don’t skimp out on the fillings/toppings either!! We got an open faced veggie bagel & Asiago with lox cream cheese & Vietnamese coffee (on the sweeter side). Service was quick & staff was very friendly. Small place though, only one table inside and some outside so we just took it to go.

Excellent Bagelry. Small place with limited seating, but clean and very friendly staff. We were looking for place that we could pick up a quick breakfast and also to keep for lunch. This place was perfect, the fresh breakfast bagel sandwhiches were delicious and the lunch bagels held up well and was great for our lunch. We got two breakfast sandwiches, Denver and NY. One on everything bagel and another on a jalapeño cheddar. Both bagels were soft and fresh, plenty of filling. Both great to eat right away when they’re nice and warm For lunch, we got the pastrami on jalapeño cheddar and turkey on garlic bagel. I really enjoyed the pastrami and all of its fillings. The sprouts were nice touch. The turkey was good, standard sandwhich. I made the mistake of throwing them in my backpack since we did a lot walking and wow the you can definitely tell there was garlic on that bagel as my backpack still smells like garlic days later All in all, I’d consider this place a hidden gem. Fair prices, delicious bagels. I’ll be back, maybe take some sweet bagels home and their spreads. I do want to try the Vietnamese coffee next time

Bagels are really good. Denver omelette is my favorite with jalapeno bagel. BLT and maple honey ham are also good. The owners are really kind. ♿️friendly. Cash and card. Easy parking.
